Goodwood Road ... alive, vibrant - a village of discovery & choice

The Goodwood Road community is all about families .. our children .. a relaxed lifestyle .. good mates. Goodwood is a small, vibrant community and a local shopping precinct. Like a country town, Goodwood offers much more than your daily essentials.

Just 5 minutes south of the Adelaide CBD, you’ll find cafés, patisseries, coffee shops, restaurants, giftware, fitness & medical practices, DVD hire shops and even a place to book a skydive! Slide into the local library to browse the shelves, surf the net or borrow a toy.

Remember your younger days where you’d drop into the butcher with mum & dad and got a piece of fritz? Goodwood is all about getting a wave and a smile from the local store owners, many of whom have been there for years. You’ll still find that on Goody Road today.

Have you ever watched a latest release movie in the historic Capri Cinema and enjoyed buttered popcorn & a chock ice while you listened to an organist masterfully play the largest Pipe Organ in the Southern Hemisphere during Intermission .. as it rises up out of the stage floor perceivably from nowhere! Wow … unique to Adelaide and Goodwood Road. There’s nowhere else in Australia like it.

Walk around and you will see kids laughing and playing. Rearranging their dinosaur jigsaw puzzles. Playing their music in the local primary school & kindergartens. Messing around in the park playground while mum & dad stoke up the BBQ alongside. There’s someone practising Yoga in the sun in our Community Garden. There’s a senior gent resting on the bench seat, watching the world go by while his dog has a drink from the water bowl outside the newsagent.

This is our community way of life, and we invite you to come and share it with us. Break your daily routine, bump & grind to sit back and relax amongst friends.

Within a couple of minutes walk of one another are a host of tantalising fresh food shops and cafés. Grab that picnic basket out the cupboard and stock her up! Snap up some beautiful fresh fruits & tropical delights from our local fruit and veg shop … then next door for some fresh baked rolls or a bread loaf, some antipasto a few doors further down and some fresh cakes & sweets just over the road. And of course, don’t forget the beer and bevvies from the local cellar … you don’t want to end up with a dry argument!

Goodwood Road is also unique in being so easily accessible by Tram, Train and Bus! Even though there are safe offstreet carparks all around the precinct, it can be just as easy to leave the car at home and hoof it down the road. The kids always LOVE a tram ride!

People come from far and wide to participate in local activities. From Bonsai to Dancing & Fitness groups, Carpet Bowls to Art, Craft and even language classes.

So why not join them .. we look forward to seeing YOU around Goodwood Road … Alive & Vibrant!
